Song Yuwei, the illegitimate daughter of the Song family’s main branch, had long been disliked by her father and stepmother because of her late mother’s dowry. However, years ago, during a bridal toss, she had chosen Chen Huizu, a scholar who later became a high-ranking official, earning her the title of a noblewoman. At the Song family gathering, she basked in glory.Meanwhile, her legitimate elder sister, Song Yufei, had thrown her embroidered ball to a passing death-row convict and fled the marriage, leading to her exile from the family. Over the years, she had lived like a beggar.Just as the family gathering was about to end, Song Yufei set the house on fire, and the two sisters were reborn—back to the moment of the bridal toss.
