She found her parents Xia Jiang and Lin Wan doted heavily on their adopted daughter Xia Qing, yet treated her with utter coldness and indifference. After her body was found, Lin Wan, a forensic doctor, and Xia Jiang, police bureau chief, joined the investigation. They refused to acknowledge the victim as their biological daughter, caring only for their adopted daughter’s safety. Su Nian watched silently, filled with cold despair. When the truth slowly came to light, Xia Jiang and Lin Wan finally realized the mutilated body was their own poor daughter. They fell into deep regret, yet it was already too late.
